Sketches I done for my story “Taal’s a Pest”. Since I got the concepts uploaded and completed for the 3 main characters, I have been working on the side characters. These are only a few as there will be many more to come. The setting, obviously, is in Australia. These guys here are nameless for now.

Rotangel Character refs

Finally moving forward with my comic's concept designing and development. Been busy working 2 jobs (both involving art, yay me!) and freelancing so personal art has been pretty scarce. The Snow break we had helped me get back in gear.

So I'm working on some refs for my main characters, I know professionally, refsheets for characters don't need to be graphically flashy since the character is the main focus, however, I figured why not. I wasn't supposed to have upbeat music on a demo reel and it made it through with an award so I'll continue stretching the 'rules' ;)

First up is Jase. I did his first since honestly he is the easiest

The surfboard designs aren't finished yet since those are of his summons and I have not final designed them yet. They will be updated soon. as well as Diego and Jennifer. The other side-main characters are getting refs but they will not be as flashy as the main ones.

Jennifer was a bit of a challenge! The main challenge was that I have been very rusty with drawing women faces in general and the other challenge was changing her from Caucasian to Korean. It took looking up actual Korean women and eventually looking at Mulan to get her final look at least somewhat Asian. Many months working on that to the point she was slowing me down on character development. I'm so happy to get her out of the way.

Coming up is Diego which is going to be a while considering he is the main character. Hopefully if I get everything done, concepts, story, website (personal and comic), I'll be able to copyright these guys (later trademark them...but that's later since it's so expensive!).

Pixel Animation

Oh man...it's been a while since I got a chance to do character animations and I can see how horribly rusty I am. But this is my first time animating a character in photoshop (but that is no excuse).

Anywas this WAS going to be an idle animation for a character of mine...but she bounces too much for it to be an idle stance :C not only that but I started off large instead of 100x100 in which I intended and I can't change the size without it going fuzzulicious! Oh well maybe next time! But this was interesting to do =)

So I have been working mostly on costumes, art commissions, and websites lately but still got a chance s to squeeze in some art work of my own personal liking, just it's going to be a while till I get them finalized if even that. So here are some artwork I have been working on or plan on working on. It's Original and Fan art. Yeah I know, there is a lot of smokers in here hahaha.

RotAngel character expressions

I've been doing some expressions for my characters of RotAngel to not only show what they would look like when making various expressions but to also practice getting used to drawing their faces. I figured not to name what each face is doing since you should be able to tell what expression they are making.

First off I started with Diego, he is the main character and I think he would be interesting to practice first since he lacks some features such as lips. I did cheat and use my artistic license and give him the appearance of eyelids and movable brows.

Next up is Jase Rivers. A pro surfer and Diego's partner. He's a pretty goofy big guy so making his expressions what pretty fun.

Jennifer Yun, also Diego's partner and best childhood friend of Jase. She's very athletic and in fact she is the only girl who played in the football team of her college. Jennifer was the toughest to make expressions for since I have been drawing males more than females lately, so coming up with hers was a very long process. I ended up drawing all her expressions without her hair so I could get it done quickly and more easily without her hair being too much of a distraction. Even through all this she still has the most.

Same idea as the 'aliens don't wear clothes' but now with my predator fan character. I didn't think a predator would be as detailed to work with as an alien...I learned the hard way but I am very happy with the results.

Hunter from Left 4 Dead 2. This took a bit. Hope it's not too dark cause what's light on my screen I noticed might be very dark on a majority of other computer screens.

The hunter was done in Sai but the background was done in photoshop.

Well my hammy ham Stripe passed away...He was pretty old for a hamster so I wasn't too much surprised but I still miss him.

Out of all the rodents I have had (gerbils, he was my first and only hamster in my life) I can say he was the nicest and most playful out of them all. I used not really care for hamsters before until my friend gave me hers and I really fell in love with them. Seriously I would even dance with him when about to give him a treat (he always wiggles his nubby tail when he is happy or excited X3).

He had like a billion nicknames: Hamp Master Flash, Hammy ham, Hamburger, fuzzy butt, and more I can't remember right now. His original name was Bug but named him stripe from the long stripe on his back.

I dunno if I'm gonna get another small rodent anymore now, might move back to lizards or guinea pig when/if my sis moves out.

Decaying torture

DIEGO! Um, with a bit of flesh. Lemme explain. This is all the doing of a character character of mine, Dubrashka, her master wanted her to capture Deigo to extract energy from him for power. Now see as a powerful necromancer Diego sacrificed his flesh to save his people and to get the power to take out Nidhogg (who later becomes his summon after his revival). Dubrashka was able to use a magic to reverse the results of his power gain and extract some of it. As a result his flesh returns slowly and VERY painfully back to him. Think of having skin and flesh ripped off you but in reverse. Since technically he is undead he doesn't die from just the flesh returning but once his energy powers are drain he can die. Some one is going to find a loophole in it..dammit it's zombie logic >:

Wanted to try making a fully rendered image in this progam called Sai Paint tool which is REALLY nice and user friendly. I decided to draw the Smoker from Left 4 Dead 2 since it's my favorite special infected and I'm pretty happy with the end results except the background. I'm thinking of starting to do background pieces (cities and architecture) with no characters in them just to get some practice with it cause it's really starting to become a burden on me.

Well this is slightly animated in a sense that the background changed as well as the character but there is no actual character movement. This is my own character, a dentist who has gone through a lot since he has fondled one of his patients, a haitian girl. He won a case and her father wanting revenge cursed him with the spirit of the snake god to forever haunt him causing him torment and killing his own family eventually being placed into a correctional asylum. Eventually the snakes take control over him and creates an alter ego that eventually breaks free from the asylum.

Another Halloween picture, this time of another character of mine that happens to be a Kelpy from mythology. These horses are said to kill humans and once mounted on the rider will never be able to come off as the Keply runs in the lake drowning its victim.

They are actually assassins much like my character Dubrashka I uploaded previously and keep an eye on her to make sure she is doing what she is supposed to. I'll explain more about them later.

I was gonna color the background but since they were both drawn on a separate sheet of paper that proved difficult. I might to it later and have them uploaded separately I dunno.

Done with Prisma markers and colored pencils and also a white out pen.

Lately I have been rewatching the beetlejuice cartoon series and realized how much I missed it and the movie! I wish there were more movies and cartoons like it. It got me so pumped with nostalgia I decided to do a drawing of it.

I went with the snake form he turns into in the movie since that was one of my favorite parts from it and Lydia looking all dramatic in his coils in the red wedding dress she wore in the movie.

There isn't any really meaning to this so use your imagination ;)

Okay the 1st post was a simple turnaround of the characters I am developing so now here's a detail reference with them. I tried to make it look like it's straight out of an art book. It took 9 hours to put together but should take less since now I have the basic template for them.

Taal Revamp

Well I decided to stick with my little Tasmanian Devil character I made for Portfolio and decided to make a story with him as well. I'm also gonna include my Cassowary, Cachlan, and have a new character, a wombat named Wola. For now I'm gonna post their turn arounds and then their sketches and expressions.

Here is a revamp of my Cassowary, Cachlan. I changed his colors a bit and gave him an ascot to reflect his 'stuck up' attitude.

This is the newest addition to the story I am doing with Taal and Cachlan. This is Wola the Wombat, she's shy but tactical. Hopefully I stick with her color choice..

The Werewolf/cat form of Michael Jackson from Thriller

I had to finally draw this and get it off my chest. This picture came to me in a dream but didn't come out exactly how I wanted it too. Oh well I worked my ass off on this and is pretty proud at the end result I got.

Anyways, I would be harshly lying to myself if I said Michael Jackson didn't inspire me greatly. From the themes I draw, the way I dance and my love for it, to the clothes I wear; he had a huge impact on me.

I remember as a kid when I had nothing to watch on TV I would pop 'Moonwalker' in and enjoy it numerous times and still enjoy the videos to this day. We even have Thriller on the infamous LASER DISC and when I was young the cover alone used to creep me out but regardless of that fact I would beg my mom to put in the disc so I could finally watch and I was in such awe! This would be the core reason why I love zombies (the other monsters I blame my dad and sis XD).

Even over years, I still enjoyed his music especially with some with the electronic feel to it. Not only did I enjoy his music, I also had some respect for him as a person that grew up without a real childhood. He, despite the media, still strive to do what he was passionate for and still wanted to help and make people happy, sadly some of those same people back stabbed him constantly but he still never quit to do what he does best =)

I know this is kinda late but I'm finally finished with the Art Institute! My portfolio show went swell even though it rained like crazy so many people were not able to show up. I got Best in show and and academic rewards! My actually graduation is no until June though. I have to say during last quarter I have been in quite an art block, one longer than I ever had before (2 months!!). I'm glad to say I am out of it and have some new (and old) artwork to put up here. I kinda have neglected this site due to the fact that I'm not used to it yet but I'll be able to pick up on it soon.

One of the few pictures I did this week is "Wave Crusher".

I wanted to do a spring time theme, even though it still feels like winter weather down here in GA. The line work on the shading are a bit jittery due to shaky hands =( hopefully that won't happen next time. Originally I wanted to do a semi-realistic shading rather than cel shading but the way the line work was it didn't work out as planned.

Portfolio arts

Well I'm currently in Portfolio class at the Art Institute of Atlanta. I am shaking in my boots cause I'm worried something dumb is going to happen that might make me fail. Hopefully things run smoothly and I'm still not used to this site at all...However, I will show some of the pieces I've chose to go into my flatbook.

This is my Tasmanian Devil Taal that will be popping up all over my Portfolio package as my 'mascot'.

And here we have Cachlan the Cassowary which is a favorite of mine. I woulda used him for my package but due to the fact Taal's Design was much more simple and easy to work around as a graphic alone I wasn't able to.

Little boy character. I'd say he's a bit of an inspiration from Both Spongebob and Flapjack.

I personally don't really care for these characters but I added them in my flatbook to show I can draw and simplify different body types. I will admit though that drawing the 'Fat cop's expression was pretty fun.

These two are in my animation "Moonlight Assassin" that have in my demo reel. I simplified them a lot for animation purposes other than that their previous design would fit better for a comic or video game.

Another one of my characters I animated that is in my demo reel. Like the previous picture they were also a lot more detailed than this. Personally I prefer drawing their more detailed design but drawing them this way, I can get more interesting expressions.

This is only a small bit of what I'm posting in my flatbook, there's a lot more than this.

Hello everyone, You may know me from Deviant Art, Fur Affinity,or Art Institute of Atlanta. I'm pretty new here and I heard this is a great spot to get yourself notice in the big world. I'm currently at the Art Institute of Atlanta as I said before and I'm on my last quarter to graduate (so happy) hopefully nothing dumb happens and I will be out of there soon. The one thing I am worried is being able to land a job in the animation field even just designing stuff in a time where the economy is not at its tip top shape. But I will not give up on that.
It's gonna take me some time getting used to this site since it's totally different than any other art site I'm on.
